Top 5 Survival Knives

The most versatile survival tool is a knife. As a prepper, the most basic thing you should have in your kit is a knife. Survival knives are your best friends!

Designed by Tom Brown and featured in the movie “The Hunted” as well as the cover of BLADE Magazine. For people that enjoy the design of the Tom Brown Tracker #1, but would like something a little smaller, the Tom Brown Tracker #2 is the perfect fit.

It is approximately 2 and a half inches shorter than the Tom Brown Tracker #1 (the original), and it’s also 3/16″ thick instead of 1/4″. The smaller version still gives the user the ability to complete the same tasks as the #1 in a lighter package. Either way, you can’t go wrong with a Tom Brown Tracker.

Model A1 is a semi-large all-purpose knife for heavy duty use. The powerful blade is made of extremely hard yet tough laminated VG10 steel and will withstand the stress of hard use. The knife is superb to chop with, but also works very well with daily tasks, thanks to the ergonomic grip. The full tang goes entirely through the handle, so you can strike the end of it without breaking the grip. The sturdy black zytel sheath allows you to fasten the knife on your belt or your pack – even upside down. Model A1 is a water repelling concept which works just as well in extreme cold as in stifling heat.

This is a traditional  knife from Nepal. They are excellent tools and weapons. what I like with this blade is its versatility. It can be used as a small killer knife. The wide part is a good substitute for an axe.

5. ESEE-6

The ESEE-6 is a wilderness survival knife with superb cutting efficiency. It has good balance and excellent fit and finish. The ESEE-6 includes molded sheath, clip plate, paracord lanyard and cord lock. The blade is crafted from 1095 carbon steel and is powder coated for corrosion protection. Carbon steel is very hard but is susceptible to rust, which makes it important to properly maintain the blade. The handles are made with tough and durable Micarta scales over the lower tang.
