If you remember, we were able to discuss the survival basics. Furthermore, that discussion took us to the acronym, SURVIVAL. Each letter representing a crucial element in survival. Today, we’re going to take a look at what the letter I of the acronym, SURVIVAL, means – Improvisation or rather Survival Improvisation: Survival Basics.
There are so many things and or items out there that we can repurpose. Learning how to improvise is one thing to “survival” that you should develop and hone. It is important to know how to repurpose the scrap or the broken items in your possession as to reach for certain needs.
The gear or items you managed to bring along won’t last forever. Their durability is not forever. It is essential that you know how to make the best out of a bad situation. The items in your survival kit or whatever could run out, be damaged, get lost…etc. in a survival situation where many things can go wrong at the same time. Your ability to manage these hassles is reflected a lot in how good and creative you are at improvisation.
No one tool has but one use, perhaps, and if not then we would say near all.
To reiterate in a different way – you should learn to use the natural objects in your environment as to suit your different needs. Imagination has to take over when your kit is no longer.
Survival improvisation, in short, will test your ability to make items out of items; craft gear out of gear; make weapons out of even ordinary objects… and so on.
